Certificate in Applied Science

26-34 Credit Hours

This certificate assists students in preparing for careers in Health Sciences professions and strengthens the academic skills of students seeking admission to a Health Sciences degree program at the college. The certificate will provide students structured guidance on the prerequisite and requisite courses for the Health Sciences programs.

BIO 225	Microbiology	4
Lec: 3 Lab: 3 Credit:4 This lecture and laboratory course introduces bacteria, protozoa, rickettsia, viruses, fungi and algae. The course emphasizes the morphology, physiology, genetics, identification, cultivation and control of microbes. CHM 105	General Organic and Biochemistry	4
Lec: 3 Lab: 3 Credit:4 This course is a study of the fundamental principles of chemistry, including atomic and molecular structure, common substances and reactions, and introduction to organic chemistry and biochemistry.
